Engagement Party

We had a party celebrating our engagement on Saturday. We lugged about 5 tons of stuff over about 25 miles of duned beach terrain* whereupon we attempted to drink/eat all of it (excepting the tables, chairs and the portable kitchen sink* we brought with us). We had help from some of the guests too, notably Muller. It was a cloudy afternoon, with thunderstorms off the coast - was really awesome, but eventually the storm began to intensify and head in our direction, and compounded by the sudden nightfall, all the aforementioned stuff had to be carried back. Luckily there was some help, but in the pitch darkness it was difficult to identify invited guests from random party-crashers, and a full inventory count has not as yet been performed. We then relocated to our apartment, bringing along several bags of sand* to create a beach substitute on our floor. In the pic we see Ang scoffing cake during alcho-pop induced munchies...

The crowd eventually subsided after the water-cannon* was deployed, and all were in bed by 11pm.

* Exaggeration may have been used. I did actually have a good time.

The One Ring

So for those of you who weren't fortunate enough to get an sms at 3:30 in the morning (SA time), Angie and I got engaged on Friday the 8th September. Attached are some pictures of the ring - for those of you who had no idea when we tried to explain the details to you. Wedding plans are tentatively for end December 2007 in Cape Town.
