Cayman Brac

Here's a map of Cayman Brac, where we went to on the weekend.
The cave is at (8), our hotel was at (2) - the Divi Tiara Beach Resort - the Pic with the beach and palm trees.
The view of the Giant Rock (Little Cayman Brac) is between (12) and (14).

The Pic of Ang in the jungle is on top of the Bluff (at 14)- which you can see in the next pic from the north. You can also see Little Cayman Brac in the last pic (which was below the Bluff between 12 and 14).

Sed's Birthday

'Twas my buddy Sed's Birthday recently. I Phoned him the day before but the reception was shitty. Ah who am I kidding - I actually forgot. Happy birthday you scallywag.

Here we see him with Kait and Semane. Can you smell the cheese off that grin?

Another Cayman Sunset

This was actually taken about a month ago, but I thought I'd hang onto it for a bit so that it would have more impact. This was taken by Ang - well done her!

We've just got back from Cayman Brac. Good to explore a new place. We didn't do any diving though - apparently this is a must on the Sister Islands. We'll have to get those dive certifications soon...

Pics and other details to follow re the Brac Trip soon.

Peter Pan

My God this production was crap. I should write to the advertising council or something. The advert in the paper really misled me - They have a corporate sponsor, which usually suggests some level of talent, and Hors d'Oeuvres on opening night!

I was sadly VERY mistaken. It was a bunch of shoolgirls prancing round on stage. Now normally this might not be such a huge problem ;-) but they were just cringeworthy.

Who the hell in their right mind puts on a production with badly tap-dancing crocodiles and Scottish dancing (prancing more like it) pirates? I'm sorry - this totally killed Hook's cred, who was one of the few notable performers.

Smee was the star of the show - a very expressive large girthed black woman who was just great - bit like a squealing piggy (which is kinda who Smee is isn't he?) Pan was ok. The other star performer was Nana. Yes, the dog. Who doubled up as a mermaid (?!) - but her singing voice was too soft.

And the rest of the cast could NOT sing. Which is a problem when there are 16 musical numbers in the play. The director has a lot to answer for in my opinion. They don't even have the excuse that the cast's voices were breaking or anything.

Ang and I had to talk afrikaans the whole time because you never know who's mother is in the row behind you at these things. We only realised the audience may have been in the 5-14 age group as well as Parents. I was thinking of joining this society when I had some spare time. Am seriously reconsidering.

Right now I just want my money back. Damn that's CI$40 that I'll never see again. Thats almost two tanks of petrol. The Sherry at the bar was bad too, and that didn't even help the performance. I suppose I have a story to tell now, and we did have a good laugh. In the car. On the way home.
